Twenty Two Words was written in the summer of 2023 and released at the start of December. The intention was to make something simple, sparse and menacing. The track revolves around a syncopated kick and a deadpan re-pitched vocal. There are only glimpses of other elements further back in the mix. There’s an abrupt switch in the middle signalled by gunshots. In the outro the drums are programmed to make the track feel like it’s falling apart.

The title references a line from a monologue in the film Return to Seoul. I took the cover photo at Rosa Barba’s exhibition The Hidden Conference. The track is streaming on all platforms and can be downloaded from Bandcamp.
